- JJava is a general purpose, high level, and interpreted programming language.
- Java is a technology.
- Java is an Object Oriented Programming(OOP) language.
- Java is developed by a team of engineers at Sun Micro System which was headed by James Gosling and it came to the market in 23 rd May 1995.
- Now Java is owned by Oracle Corporation.
- Java came to the market by taking three editions like; Java 2 Standard Edition(J2SE)[so called as Core Java], Java 2 Enterprise Edition(J2EE)[so called as Adv. Java], and Java 2 Micro Edition(J2ME).
- J2SE is specifically used to develop desktop applications.
- J2EE is specifically used to develop web or enterprise applications.
- J2ME is specifically used to develop device applications.
